Why people switch from cartridges
One 640 g cylinder is roughly 80 standard 8 g charges. The saving is real, but the reason kitchens actually switch is the interruption: with a cylinder and a regulator you charge one siphon, then the next, without unscrewing a spent cartridge in the middle of service.
Aluminium, not steel
Smartwhip’s cylinders are aluminium — recyclable, and noticeably lighter to lift than steel across a long shift. If your team is moving cylinders between stations all day, that is the practical difference you will notice.
What you need alongside it
A pressure regulator. A cylinder will not thread into a whipping siphon directly; only 8 g cartridges do that. One regulator serves every cylinder you buy afterwards.
